Uniform

Uniform List (All Years)

At Wilstead, we believe that the purpose of the school uniform is to enable our children to learn practically and comfortably. It also creates a ‘team’ ethos in line with our Wilstead Family values.

We do not believe that uniform should be expensive or difficult to source. Although we do offer sweatshirts, cardigans and other items with logos, this is by no means expected or compulsory.

Our PTA offer pre-loved uniform at greatly reduced costs, enabling us to recycle and reduce our carbon footprint as much as possible. Please contact our PTA members or speak to the school office if you would like to see the stock. We are always grateful for donations, too!

Wilstead’s Uniform

  • Forest Green sweatshirt, cardigan or jumper (with or without logo)
  • White polo shirt (with or without school logo)
  • Black or dark grey shorts, trousers or skirt/pinafore
  • Green checked summer dress
  • Black shoes

We understand that some children may still have red school sweaters.  Please see the Uniform Change letter for further details.

For PE and Outdoor Learning

  • White t-shirt (a house colour-specific PE t-shirt is also available)
  • Black shorts, or tracksuit bottoms for the winter months
  • Trainers or plimsolls for PE
  • Wellington boots
  • Suitable outdoor clothing (coat, hat)
  • Water bottle

Please ensure ALL items are named! Lost Property is recycled to our pre-loved collection!

Our children come to school on PE days ready dressed in their kit – this reduces time lost for changing and lost belongings too.

Our branded clothing and other items such as book bags can be obtained from

Prestige Clothing www.prestigedesignww.co.uk

What follows is our P.E Uniform expectations.

We want to ensure our students project the correct image whilst at school even when taking part in PE lessons, as we often take part in Intra School Games which involves representing our school at other venues. Children will also take part in two lessons of Physical Education a week, so it is essential for all pupils to wear appropriate uniform for their PE lessons to ensure personal hygiene and safety.

Please ensure that your child wears the correct PE Uniform in school on their timetabled PE days – these can found on the school’s website.

Please be mindful that when purchasing P.E Uniform for the next academic year that it is in line with our uniform list. Attached is our uniform provider.

This is as follows:

  • White t-shirt with or without school logo/coloured panels based on child’s house colour.

  • Plain black shorts or joggings bottoms/leggings with NO logos.

  • Appropriate trainers.

During PE lessons children are not allowed to wear jewellery of any kind, please ensure jewellery can be removed for PE, including earrings, by the child if they are not removed before school.  Children are also required to tie back their hair during their lessons.

Kind regards,

Miss Robertson – P.E Co-ordinator

Through our uniform supplier Prestige, we are able to offer the children the choice of a coloured PE top for sports. See below for a picture.

At Wilstead, all children are sorted in to one of four Houses for sports events but also team work (read below), each House has a name and colour, Rutherford (Green), Hamilton (Yellow), Pendleton (Blue) and Radcliffe (Red).

The children are awarded house merits for outstanding learning, excellent behaviour, kindness shown to others and great personal effort in their work. The aim of the House/Merit system is to provide additional motivation and reward as well as promoting the ethos of being a team member. All siblings will be in the same House.

The PE top colour will relate to their House, it can be worn for PE lessons in school and sports events outside of school and makes each player easily identifiable, especially at sports day.

The school office can tell you which house your child is in if they/you do not know.
