Dear Parents, the school is working hard to make sensible adjustments that help the school environment stay cool to ensure the comfort of all students.
If the classrooms reach 30 degrees we will inform parents on the day.
Children can then be collected at your own discretion.
But school will remain open for all children until 3.30pm every day.
Even if temperatures increase, we are following guidance from the DfE and Heart Academies. For example, no PE in the afternoons, no MUGA use at lunch, shading windows to prevent direct sunlight, no computer use that could increase room temperatures. Fans are available in all classrooms. Children can come to school in PE kit and with a personal fan if desired. Water bottles, as always, are available at all times and students are encouraged to drink at regular intervals.
School will monitor the classroom temperature and let parents know if they reach 30 degrees each day. If you do not hear from us via DoJo/Text/Email, temperatures in rooms will currently be below 30.
