Welcome to Wilstead Primary School, we hope you enjoy looking through our website and welcome any feedback you have. The Website will have content added regularly over the coming weeks so keep checking back.
Our technological age has offered children and young people a wealth of opportunities and possibilities. It also places children at risk of exposure to unsuitable content or potential abuse. It is the responsibility of schools, parents and carers to ensure that children know how to keep themselves safe online.
At Wilstead, we remember the Four Cs of Online Safety:
Content: seeing illegal, inappropriate or harmful content
Contact: harmful interactions with others
Conduct: behaviour that increases the chances of, or causes, harm
Commerce: gambling, advertising, scams
Online safety is taught discretely, through dedicated lessons within our ICT and RSHE curriculums. It is also taught continuously, whenever access to the internet is used within lessons or set as extended learning. We remind our children how to stay safe all the time.
Staying safe online is always a concern, and we teach it both within our curriculum and beyond in our day to day interactions with the online communities. We have provided some useful links below to organisations that can advise and support parents and carers.
If you or anyone you know is worried about Child Exploitation, Online Protection or anything related to Internet safety please click the link below which will take you to the CEOP reporting website, or contact the school for further advice.
