Learning Support Assistant

Wilstead Primary School is looking for an motivated individual with experience across the primary age range.  Our team is happy and hardworking, the camaraderie is evident in our low staff turn over.  The school is situated in the lovely Bedfordshire countryside, we advocate alternative and individualised approaches to teaching and learning and promotes an inclusive and therapeutic approach to behaviour management.

We need someone with experience of working with primary pupils with social and emotional needs and a good understanding of positive behaviour management strategies, which can be applied on a 1:1 basis if needed.  Further details of the school’s approach to behaviour can be found on our school website.

Team Teach trained is an advantage, but training can be given. Previous experience with ASD diagnosis also preferred.

The role is full time (8.45am to 3.15pm, Monday to Friday) term time only plus 5x staff training days. The role is for a fixed term initially until 31st August 2026.

The right candidate will be required to take part in a daily half hour lunch duty as part of their role.

Our Learning Support Assistants require a strong, kind and patient personality, good interpersonal skills, adaptability and a sense of humour!
