Art and Design
Art and Design/Technology are blocked together and taught as discrete subjects in alternative half terms. However, both form a signficant part of other areas of the curriculum at Wilstead and are central to our approach to assessment of learning as we frequently ask our children to draw and illustrate their learning of key concepts in subjects such as Science, RSHE or History.
We follow the Twinkl Planning Scheme to ensure that we teach the Art and Design/Technology skills outlined in the National Curriculum. This also ensures that pupils are given a variety of different Art and Design/Technology projects and topics to further deepen their creativity.
At Wilstead Primary School we are currently offering a KS1 cooking club to pupils in Years 1 & 2, we hope to offer more Art and Design Technology extra-curricular activities in the future.
