Wilstead Primary School Learning for Life

Year 5 (Grasshoppers)

Hello Year 5!

This week is the final week of the term!  While it will be a little different to normal, I have tried to include some of the fun activities that we would have been doing at school into your home learning.  I hope that you enjoy them!

This has been a strange couple of months, and you have done a great job of persevering with your learning at home, but we really hope that we can see you in school again soon.  We're crossing our fingers that everything remains on the right track so that everyone can come back in September.  Don't forget to contact me one last time so that I can mark you off on our contact register, and remember that I am here to help if you need me.  Just email me at

Keep smiling, and stay safe.  We are so proud of you all for working so hard.

Year 5 and 6 have enjoyed their lunch club benchball, working together as a team to get their players onto the bench first! Check out the action shots below.
Year 5 and 6 have recently taken part in Bikeability achieving our level 1 and 2 badges! Here are some of the children's comments
' I have really enjoyed the last few days of bikeablity and everything I have learnt! I would love to do it again' Ruby Nooy
'I liked the U turns and signalling too, it was super fun especially the major onto the minor roads turns'. Beth Crighton
'The people who taught us were fabulous, very kind and has lots of cool things to teach us!' - Alexi Groh.

Year 5 had the fantastic opportunity in Autumn 1 to be coached by an experienced rugby player from Northampton Saints. We have learnt a range of skills in tag rugby and have enjoyed working as a team to defend.
